 To become a IAS/PCS is like that a dream comes true. As we know IAS/PCS are administrative jobs. And in India mostly people want to become IAS/PCS but they can not full fill their dream just because they have no any plan and no more knowledge about the way of "How to Become IAS/PCS.

But dear all friends no need to worry here we will provide all guideline related to IAS/PCS and other administrative jobs.

How to become IAS/PCS ?

Step 1: The first thing You have to completed your graduation or appearing in final year.

Step 2 : Now You have to apply Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) IAS/PCS online form which comes every year.
Step 3 : You have to clear in prelims examination (CSAT).
Step 4 : You have to clear IAS main examination in this examination you have 9 papers.
Step 5 : In this phase you have to face interview and It is final round of this exam and after that you become IAS

Selection Procedure :

The following stages will be considered for final selection.
Only main exam & Interview marks will be considered for final selection list.


  • Preliminary Exam (Objective type questions -100 Marks
  • Main Exam (Descriptive Type)
  •  Personal Interview (275 Marks)

Exam Pattern :-

Preliminary Exam The pattern of preliminary exam is known as CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test).There will be 2 papers in the preliminary exam of 2 hours duration for each containing 200 marks for each paper. Paper, I will check the applicant’s knowledge on current events, Indian history, Indian national movements, Indian & world geography, Indian polity, economy, social development, environmental ecology, biodiversity etc. Paper II will check the applicants’ knowledge on comprehension, interpersonal skills, communication, logical reasoning, analytical ability, decision making, problem-solving, data interpretation, English language etc. The exam will be conducted in offline mode in duration. Each question will be 1/3 Mark penalty for the wrong answer.

Note for Paper I :-  This paper will be counted for qualifying to write the Civil Services Mains exam.
Note for Paper II :-  This paper is of qualifying nature, but candidate must score at least 33% marks in this paper. However, marks of this paper are not counted for writing the Mains examination.

Main Exam :-

There will be total nine papers in the main exam- 2 are of qualifying in nature and the rest 7 are ranking in nature. The qualified applicants of the Main examination will be called for personal interview.

Personal Interview:-

The main objective of this test is to assess the applicant’s personal suitability for a particular service. The board of competent will evaluate the applicants on their mental abilities, intellectual skills, social traits & interest in current affairs. The interview will not only be a strict cross questioning but of a natural conversation. The applicants are expected to have interest in the happening around them in Indian as well as in the world instead of showing their knowledge about the particular academic subject.
